Arrest Yields Recovery of Stolen Vehicle and Ghost Gun

Police located a stolen vehicle and recovered a ghost gun in the Central District early Wednesday afternoon.    

Around 1:00 p.m., officers located a stolen vehicle in the 1100 block of 25th Avenue at a nearby business. Police observed the driver collide with parked vehicles when he attempted to leave the area.    

After the collisions, the male suspect ran from the vehicle and was apprehended after a foot pursuit. During the foot pursuit, the suspect dropped a satchel which was later located in the backyard of a residence.  

Officers checked the satchel and found a handgun that had no serial number, otherwise known as a ghost gun.  

Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and provided medical aid to the suspect for his reported injuries.

The 17-year-old male was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of stolen vehicle, hit and run, DUI, obstruction, and his outstanding felony warrant. He will be booked into the King County Youth Services Center after being medically cleared at Harborview Medical Center.
