A female is deceased, and a male is in custody after police responded to a stabbing in the Beacon Hill neighborhood Monday morning.
Shortly before 5:00 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of an assault in the 5300 block of 31st Avenue South. Officers arrived at a residence and contacted a 50-year-old female with serious injuries at the doorway. The woman and her 73-year-old mother were escorted out of the house.
Officers searched the house for more victims and contacted a man with a knife in the residence. The 54-year-old male was taken into custody. Inside the house, police found a 21-year-old female deceased.
Homicide detectives, along with members of the Crime Scene Investigation unit, responded to the scene. The Homicide unit will be leading the investigation.
The injured woman was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was also transported to a nearby hospital to treat minor injuries.
