Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested in Lake City Neighborhood

Seattle Police officers arrested a 16-year-old male for robbing a Lake City neighborhood business with a gun Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported robbery in the 3000 block of 127th Street. Officers arrived and contacted a store employee who stated three teenage males entered the store and attempted to steal tools. When staff confronted the juveniles, one of the suspects brandished a firearm. The three suspects then fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

A short time later, officers learned the vehicle was involved in a collision and the suspects ran from the scene. Multiple SPD officers, with the assistance of the King County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the area to search for the males.

The suspect who produced the handgun was located and taken into custody. The firearm was recovered during the arrest and was found to be illegally modified.

The juvenile was booked into the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children and Family Justice Center for investigation of robbery, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful firearms.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit, along with members of the Community Violence Task Force continue to look for the two remaining suspects.
