Detectives Investigating After Two Adults and Two Children Found Deceased in Wallingford Home

Two adults and two children were found deceased after Seattle police responded to a 911 call involving a house fire Saturday morning in the Wallingford neighborhood. Prior to arrival, officers learned an 11-year-old child was able to escape and contact a neighbor.

Shortly after 8:45 a.m., officers arrived near the intersection of North 48th Street and Whitman Avenue North and found a house engulfed in flames. Officers attempted to force entry to the residence, but the doorways were barricaded.

Firefighters and Officers evacuated nearby residents, while Seattle Fire Department (SFD) personnel extinguished the fire.

Once the fire was extinguished, SWAT secured the residence for SFD. SFD continued the search of the home and found two adults, and two children deceased.

The surviving child was treated for minor injuries and is in the care of emergency personnel until she can be reunited with family.

Homicide Detectives, members of the Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Arson Bomb Squad arrived on scene. The Homicide Unit will be leading the investigation.
