Police responded to a report of a shooting early Thursday morning in the South Park neighborhood.
Officers arrived around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of 12 Avenue South and South Cloverdale Street and found an unresponsive man on the street with a gunshot wound.
Seattle Fire attempted life saving measures but the male victim sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was declared deceased at the scene.
Police are still investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation unit responded to the location. Homicide will be leading the ongoing investigation.
