#2023-369964/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 0842 hours, 911 received a call of a suspect on the grounds of a local Polish Catholic Church. The suspect desecrated a religious statue in a shrine on the church property amongst other property before fleeing into the nearby neighborhood. Officers located the suspect nearby with an axe and took him into custody without incident. The suspect made multiple anti-Catholic/Christian/ Polish statements post arrest. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Hate Crime. 

#2023-370215/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1416 hours, East Precinct officers received a call from an unknown subject stating he had just fatally assaulted someone and had had explosives, ammunition, firearms, and other explosives that he was ready to detonate. Subject also requested an escape car. Dispatch determined that by the name that was given, the subject lived in the West Precinct area. Upon arrival at the location, the address appeared to be vacant. Officers found no evidence of a crime at the location and the call appeared to be false and a “swatting” incident.  

#2023-370403/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1737 hours, Officers attempted to stop a vehicle after it sat through two traffic light cycles rotations at 12th Avenue and South Jackson Street. The vehicle then refused to stop when instructed to do so and drove off East on South Jackson Street. No pursuit was initiated but a search of the area found the vehicle wrecked at 20th and East Yesler shortly thereafter. The driver was located after a brief search by officers, verified by witnesses and cameras, and arrested without incident for Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Eluding, Hit and Run, and DUI.

#2023-370555/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2107 hours, the victim and his girlfriend were involved in a minor collision with a Toyota in a parking lot. They pulled over to exchange information when there was an argument about fault. An uninvolved bystander involved himself stating the collision was the fault of the Prius driver. The Prius driver pulled out a handgun, at which time the witness then pulled his own handgun and the two exchanged gunfire at one another. The victim and his girlfriend hid behind a car to avoid being hit by the gunfire. Both vehicles fled in an unknown direction from the scene. 

#2023-370551/South Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2103 hours, Officers were dispatched to a shots call in the 8500 block of Rainier Avenue South. Witnesses in the area provided info to patrol about the location of the shooting, and officers located a single shell casing in the roadway on South Cloverdale Place. A short time later, a victim called to report that he had been stopped at a traffic light, when an unknown vehicle stopped near the rear of his vehicle in a turn lane. The suspect fired several shots at the vehicle striking it in the passenger side C pillar. The round traveled through the car between the two victims sitting in the front seat and exit out the windshield. The victims were uninjured. The victim vehicle also had two flat rear tires. The victim fled the scene and went to a nearby location where he called 911.
