#2024-000157/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:

At 0218 hours, Officers responded to the 700 block of South Cloverdale Street for a report of an armed carjacking. The victim reported that she had been seated in the driver’s seat of her running vehicle in a parking lot when an unknown male opened the door, began yelling at the victim and struck her in the face with a handgun. The victim was pulled from the vehicle and the suspect jumped into the car and fled the scene. The victim believes there may have been a second suspect who jumped in as well, but no description was obtained for the second suspect. The vehicle fled towards two nearby freeway onramps and the vehicle information was broadcast to WSP and KCSO. An area check was unsuccessful at this time.

#2024-000493/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 1330 hours, Officers responded to a downtown retailer who located a suspicious package inside the changing area. ABS was requested, responded, and determined the package was non-hazardous.  

#2024-000524/West Precinct/First Watch:

At 1335 hours, Officers responded to two separate strong-arm robbery incidents at pharmacies roughly 20 minutes apart. Two suspects entered the store and assaulted employees while obtaining money from registers. Both incidents involved males in their 20’s with matching clothing description. An associated vehicle was described as a newer model gray hatchback. Officers searched the area for the described associated vehicle however resulted negative for any sightings or additional events.

#2024-000916/West Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2345 hours, Officers responded to an apartment building in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue to assist SFD. Staff reported a motorized chair on fire in the lobby. Investigation revealed the owner of the chair set it on fire using several pieces of paper. The fire caused significant damage to the lobby but no injuries. The chair owner was arrested for investigation of arson.
