#2024-016672/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1845 hours, Officers responded to a call for service at the intersection of East Yesler Way and 12th Avenue South for approximately 10 shots heard. Officers arrived in the area and quickly checked and found no victims and no damage to the building. Witnesses in the area stated that the suspect fired 10 shots near the entrance to the building parking lot and fled in a beige in color SUV. One person reported property damage to their vehicle. Area check for the suspect led to negative results. Shell casings were collected and placed into evidence.
#2024-016729/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2001 hours, Officers were dispatched to a shooting inside a residence in Sam sector. The suspect, a convicted felon, was under the influence and fired a gun inside the home. The suspect’s family member was able to take the firearm away from the suspect prior to officers arriving. The suspect told officers that he thought someone was shooting through the rear sliding door of the residence. Evidence located on scene and witness statements contradicted the suspect’s claim. Officers located bullet damage to the walls and doors downstairs. The firearm used in the incident was recovered and found to be stolen out of Pierce County. The suspect was transported to KCJ, where he was declined for medical reasons and is currently being guarded at HMC.
