#2024-050999/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0145 hours officers received a report of hearing gunshots fired from the area of 2nd Avenue South and South Main Street. Officers arrived quickly and located several fired casings. No suspects, victims or property damage were located.
#2024-051042/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0325 hours officers responded to a burglary in progress at a gas station located in the 4100 block Southwest Admiral Way. The suspects utilized crowbars and a U-Haul Box Truck with a tow rope to break into the fuel station kiosk. The suspects stole cigarettes/merchandise and tried to remove the safe before driving away. Officers spotted the van a short distance away and began to coordinate a stop. The van driver began to drive recklessly, and officers disengaged, losing sight. An area check was negative. Scene processed by patrol.
#2024-051066/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 0453 hours, three suspects driving a U-Haul box truck with the state Oklahoma on the side, pried their way into a Ballard tavern stealing the safe from inside the business. The suspects fled the scene northbound on Ballard Avenue Northwest. The officers conducted an area check for the suspects and cleared the business with negative results. The owners of the tavern showed up later and reported their safe had been stolen.
#2024-051535/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1505, Bike Officers were performing routine narcotic activity stops in the 225th block of Broadway East as they located four subjects engaging in narcotics use. Two subjects were identified, cleared, and released. One subject had an outstanding warrant and was arrested and transported to KCJ. The final subject was observed holding a bag of suspected narcotics. He stated that the substance was “clear”, and he was arrested. Search incident to arrest, officers found Fentanyl and meth on his person.
#2024-051631/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1642 hours, a suspect walked into a bank and handed a teller a note demanding money. The process to get cash was apparently taking too long so the suspect grabbed his note and left. Police searched the area with negative results. A weapon was implied but not seen.
