Seattle police have taken a suspect into custody after a woman was shot to death in the early morning hours of March 3rd in Belltown.
Officers responded to shots heard inside a building in the 2500 block of Western Avenue at about 1:10 a.m.
When investigators arrived, they found a woman in her 20s or 30s with a gunshot wound in an alleyway between Wall and Vine streets. Despite life-saving efforts by Seattle police and fire crews, the woman died on the scene.
Seattle police were able to quickly identify a woman in her late 20s to early 30s as a suspect and took her into custody. They also recovered a gun.
Right now, it’s unclear what led up to the deadly shooting. Homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to the scene. The Homicide Unit will lead the investigation.
