A woman is deceased, and Homicide detectives are investigating after shooting in the Central District Wednesday night.
Shortly after 8:00 p.m., officers were in the area of 24th Avenue South and South Main when gunfire rang out. Immediately following the gunfire, dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the area.
Officers found a woman unresponsive lying on the sidewalk. Officers attempted life-saving measures until Seattle Fire Department arrived. Despite all life-saving efforts, the woman died at the scene.
Homicide Unit detectives and The Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded and are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting. No suspects have been identified at this time.
