#2024-101674/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0423 hours, 911 callers reported a male in crisis, headbutting light poles and running into traffic. Officers arrived to find the subject exhibiting what appeared to be Acute Behavioral Disorder, challenging them to a fight, and requesting knives from passersby. Type II force was used, and the subject was taken to HMC for medical and mental evaluation. Chain of Command advised.
#2024-101993/South Precinct/First Watch:
At 1152 hours, Officers responded to a DESC facility to investigate one of the residents assaulting a staff member. Officers investigated the incident and were informed the primary Suspect directing making threats towards the Victim – described as hate speech – that included derogatory anti-gender and anti-racial comments. The Suspect attempted to hit the Victim and spat on them. The Suspect was placed under arrest. The Bias Crimes Unit notified.
