Seattle police are investigating a deadly crash involving a dump truck and a motorcycle in the Georgetown neighborhood on May 1.
Officers responded to the crash near 1st Avenue South and South Lucile Street just after 10 a.m. They found a man who’d been riding the motorcycle dead at the scene. The dump truck driver initially drove away, but was located by Seattle police and cooperated with investigators.
A drug recognition expert also responded to assess the dump truck driver and found no signs of impairment. No arrest has been made.
The crash closed the road and impacted traffic.
The Seattle Police Department Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded and is working to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
