#2024-120867/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0138 hours, a man entered a truck stop convenience store in the 7800 block of Detroit Ave SW and attempted to steal various items. Confronted by the clerk, who managed to get the store’s items back, the suspect displayed the handle of a gun in the front pocket of his jacket. He then drove off in an unknown direction in an R/V. An area check for the suspect was negative. Robbery was notified.
#2024-121105/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 1004 hours, multiple callers reported hearing gunshots in the 600 Block of NW 85 ST. Officers located the scene of the shooting. The suspect fired three rounds from a white sedan towards an apartment building. Two rounds impacted an occupied residence, and the other struck a parked vehicle. No one was injured. The vehicle fled. Shell casing was located. GVRU was notified.
#2024-121359/West Precinct/Second Watch: At 1538 hours, the suspect was on narcotics and in an altered reality. The suspect believed someone was going to kill him and decided to break into several houses in the area. Multiple callers called 911 to report the incident. Officers arrived at the scene to find the suspect was inside a victim’s home. The suspect was confronted by officers and was arrested. The suspect sustained a cut from broken glass before the officers’ arrival. The suspect was transported to HMC for medical evaluations before booking. Currently, the suspect is being guarded at HMC. Once medically cleared, the suspect will be booked for the crime of residential burglary and violation of no contact order.
