#2024-134121/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1204 hours, a male victim walked out from underneath the I-5 Greenbelt, aka “The Jungle,” area near Airport Wy S / S Horton St. He had been shot in the upper left chest by birdshot rounds. He collapsed and a nearby male called 911. The victim was unable to provide suspect description or point to a crime scene. First Officers on scene applied for a chest seal and performed medical aid until SFD/Medic One arrived. He was transported via Medic One to HMC. Evidence was collected and submitted from two sites.
#2024-134059/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 1059 hours, Subject reported to be in water yelling for assistance under the 520-bridge area. Harbor, land units and fire responded. Harbor located subject in the marsh area of the arboretum. Harbor beached the patrol boat next to the subject. Subject was hypothermic and unable to climb aboard. Harbor able to secure a line and pulled subject aboard. Subject transported to UW activity center dock. Fire evaluated and transported subject to UW medical. Subject was ITA’d by SPD.
#2024-134167/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1242 hours, a group of about 150 people gathered on the 500 blk of Olive Way for demonstration blocking the street. Crowd was representing the SEIU 6 Union. Group marched south on 5 AV blocking traffic with the assistance of the car and bicycle brigade. No assault or property destruction reported. Incident was screened with 214.
#2024-134189/South Precinct/First Watch:
A Sgt returning from an earlier call was flagged down in the 4500 block of 15 Avenue South about a hit-and-run crash that occurred moments earlier. The Sgt had spotted the suspect running from the area, tracking him all the way to the VA hospital. Additional officers responding to the call contacted the suspect Who struck an officer in the face with his shoulder, cutting the officer’s lip severely. An additional officer, tased the suspect before they were able to take him into custody. The injured officer was taken Harborview Medical Center for treatment. 231 responded to the scene. The incident was screened with FIT.
#2024-134501/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1836 hours, Officers responded to the 3000 block of SW Morgan St to a report of shots fired. Officers located the scene in a nearby alley. Officers recovered over a dozen FCCs at the scene. Several blocks away officers located a vehicle with recent bullet damage parked in an alley. Officers contacted the victim who stated he was approached by 2 gunmen in the alley that fled after shooting at his vehicle. GVRU responded to assist with scene processing and interviews. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
