Seattle Police detectives are investigating a fatal collision in North Seattle Thursday afternoon.
At 4:47 p.m., patrol officers responded to a motorcycle vs. vehicle collision in the 13700 block of Aurora Avenue North.
The Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and provided medical aid to the injured motorcyclist. Despite all lifesaving measures, the 19-year-old male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the other vehicle were both in their 70s. Firefighters treated the passenger for minor injuries, and she was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The driver was uninjured. He was evaluated by a Drug Recognition Expert at the scene and was not impaired.
The motorcycle and vehicle collided with one another near the outermost bus lane. Officers cordoned off the area and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to the scene.
