#2024-179190/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0150 hours, Caller reported hearing a physical fight followed by 3 shots. Caller then heard a vehicle driving off from the scene. Patrol responded and located 3 – 9mm shell casings. No victim(s) and no property damage were located. Patrol processed the scene.
#2024-179133/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0014 hours, Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery of the 7-11 located at MLK/S Orcas. Two masked suspects entered the store one with a handgun and walked directly to the clerk, pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded that he open the till. Suspects demanded the clerk open the drop safe multiple times, but the clerk kept telling the suspects that he didn’t have access. The clerk opened the till, and the suspects grabbed the money from the till and began assaulting the clerk. Suspects left the store and fled in a possible blue sedan. Security footage showed that the suspects are the same suspects from the robberies in the North PCT. Incident was screened with Robbery.
#2024-179332/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 0711 hours, Officers responded to a shooting in the area of 14 Av Nw / Nw Market St. Officers located a scene with blood on the ground, five shell casings, and a vehicle with a gun inside. Moments later, a victim checked into Swedish Ballard Hospital with a GSW to his abdomen. Officers interviewed the victim and several witnesses and recovered a gun from the scene. The suspect was not located. Car 22, Homicide, PIO notified.
#2024-179406/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 0858 hours, SPD officers responded to investigate a threat incident. The officers interviewed the victim and developed probable cause for the crime of Malicious Harassment because the victim believed the suspect threatened to assault the victim based on his sexual orientation before leaving the area on foot. An area check for the suspect yielded negative results. Notifications were sent to the Bias Crime Coordinator and Violent Crimes Section Captain. Unit 211 and Media were notified of the incident.
#2024-179691/South Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1355 hours, children at a summer day camp were playing on the playground near a community center at Rainier Beach. The female stranger approached the children and grabbed two of them stating they were hers and tried to drag them off the playground. A struggle ensued and one of the children had minor injuries. The female subject was in some type of mental crisis and was placed under arrest, later being booked into KCJ. The incident was screened with the Homicide Unit. Media Unit notified.
#2024-180213/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0200 hours, officers responded to the 14300 block of Aurora Ave North to a report of a victim being shot at. Officers arrived and located the victim who described being shot at by two vehicles travelling on Aurora Ave N as he walked. The victim was uninjured during the incident and the suspects were not located. GVRU responded to the scene to assist with processing. The circumstances leading up to the shooting remain under investigation.
