Seattle Police arrested a gang member for domestic violence and recovered a stolen gun in the Central District Sunday afternoon.
On July 14th, patrol officers responded to a report of domestic violence (DV) assault in the 1900 block of 30th Avenue South. They located a female victim suffering from recent injuries.
Officers determined that the victim, 31, was assaulted multiple times and threatened with a gun.
While investigating, police located the suspect near 23rd Avenue and South Jackson Street. The male fled from officers initiating a multiple-block foot chase.
Officers captured the suspect and arrested him for DV Harassment, DV Assault, Obstructing a Public Officer, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possessing a Stolen Firearm.
Police located the gun believed to have belonged to the suspect and seized it as evidence.
The 26-year-old male is a validated gang member of the Union Street Hustlers. He was booked into King County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Detectives with the felony Domestic Violence Unit have taken lead on this investigation.
