#2024-232988/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
Shortly after 0300 hours, 911 Dispatch (CARE) received a call that a male was heard screaming for assistance around 38th Avenue Southwest and Southwest Alaska Street. The call was later updated that the suspect had entered an open business and claimed he was being followed. Police arrived and found the suspect entered the SFD Station and barricaded himself inside a room and had set off fire extinguishers. During the investigation officers developed probable cause for Burglary and Malicious Mischief. Contact was establishing with the suspect and police were able to talk the suspect into exiting the room and he was taken into custody without incident. It was later discovered that the suspect did significant damage at the nearby business as well. The subject was arrested for Burglary and several counts of Malicious Mischief. The suspect admitted to taking narcotics prior to the incidents and was hallucinating. The suspect was transported to Harborview Medical Center for evaluation. At the time of this narrative the suspect was at HMC under guard awaiting transport to KCJ.
