Detectives are investigating a three-car collision in Seattle’s Interbay neighborhood that left four people injured.
Friday afternoon shortly before 4:00 p.m., 911 Dispatch received reports of a three-vehicle collision in the 2800 block of 15th Avenue West. Officers arrived and found three cars with significant damage in the northbound lanes of 15th Avenue West. Also, four subjects with injured were located.
Seattle Fire Department arrived and extracted subjects from two of the three vehicles. Aid was provided and three subjects were later transported to Harborview Medical Center for their injuries.
The 19-year-old female driver of the gray Toyota Venza sustained serious injuries, and a 17-year-old male passenger was rendered unconscious. The 51-year-old female driver of the red Toyota Highlander sustained serious injuries. The 24-year-old male driver of the black Subaru Outback sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Witnesses stated that the gray Toyota was traveling southbound on 15th Avenue and struck the curb then crossed into northbound oncoming traffic. The vehicle collided with the red Toyota and black Subaru before flipping over.
Patrol officers secured the scene until detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad arrived. The roadway was blocked for an extended time during the rescue, recovery and investigation.
Detectives are working to determine the exact circumstances that led up to the collision.
