#2024-365240/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1647 hours, West Precinct Bike Officers contacted and arrested a suspected drug dealer in possession of 15.8g crack cocaine, 2.2g meth, and 3.3g heroin in the Belltown Neighborhood. After assistance from SPD Narcotics dog Cisco and a subsequent search warrant on the suspected drug dealer’s vehicle, officers recovered 94.1g meth and 15.4g heroin with $1650 in US currency. This was the 4th arrest of this subject for narcotics in 4 months, all in Belltown. Special thanks to SPD Narcotics who continue to support our drug suppression efforts.

#2024-366506/West Precinct/Third Watch:

From approximately 2100-0100 hours, the annual New Year’s Eve at the Needle event was held to a very healthy crowd that rivaled pre-pandemic levels. The event itself was successful and went off without a hitch thanks to the event coordinators and staffing from SPD and the PEO’s. Street racers arrived and briefly shut down nearby intersections before eventually leaving the city, and several disturbances broke out after the event as the crowd was dispersing into the surrounding streets, resulting in rapid responses from CRG and other resources. 4 arrests were made, including 1 DUI, 2 Trespasses, and 1 Assault.

#2024-365936/North Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1100 hours, North patrol conducted a retail theft operation at a frequent target of shoplifts on Aurora Av N. Officers made a total of five arrests. Four arrestee’s were medically declined and one was booked into YSC. GIU assisted with the operation.

#2024-366615/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On New Year’s Eve, seven DUI officers and an officer phlebotomist conducted a DUI emphasis patrol in Seattle. They contacted 62 drivers, issued 35 citations, and made 6 DUI arrests. 3 of the arrested DUI drivers had at least one prior DUI; one had four prior DUIs. DUI officers assisting patrol also made 3 other arrests, recovering a stolen vehicle, 38 grams of cocaine, 180 pills including fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, clonazepam, tramadol, and other drugs, and responded to a street racing scene, a shooting scene, and many other 911 calls. Planning for the next high visibility emphasis patrol is ongoing.
