A 41-year-old man was arrested this morning after pulling a concealed sword from his cane and slashing another man in the face.
According to officers, the 41-year-old suspect got into some sort of argument at an apartment complex in the 400 block of 8th Avenue South. The suspect apparently swung the sword and cut the victim in the lower lip.
Officers responded to the 6:37 a.m. 911 call and found the victim, a 51-year-old man, with a wound to his lip. Police treated the wound until Seattle Fire Department paramedics arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable, non-life-threatening, condition.
Officers believe the suspect rode away from the apartment complex on a BMX-style bike. He was located a few blocks away at Hing Hay Park and taken into custody.
