2025-8357/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2300 hours, officers responded to a report of a person being shot at in the parking lot of 9200 block of Rainier Av S. Police contacted the victim and an eyewitness. The victim was not injured. According to the witness, the suspect walked up to approximately 20 feet from the victim’s vehicle and fired 2 rounds striking the rear passenger window and rear passenger fender and then turned around and walked away SB on Sturtevant Av S. Containment was set up and K9 responded to track for the suspect with negative results. 2 casings and a live round were collected as evidence from the scene. KCSO Deputy also responded to assist with checking the wooded area. Incident was screened with GVRU
2025-8328/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2204 hours, officers responded to a person in crisis, with SFD. At the time, the subject met ITA criteria. After some discussion, SFD decided to return to the subject’s apartment without SPD. The subject immediately produced a large knife and advanced toward SFD personnel. SPD was still outside and returned to address the now suspect. A short standoff occurred with the suspect, in his apartment common area hallway, before he fled inside the apartment. A short time later, the suspect jumped from his 2nd story window, injuring himself. The suspect was transported to HMC via Medic 1. After medical evaluation, the suspect will be booked for assault on a firefighter.
