#2025-24775/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 0550 hours, SFD was on scene at an apartment complex in Nora Sector on an unrelated call when they discovered a possible abandoned child in the apartment next door. Officers made entry into the residence and located an 18-month-old child alone. The child appeared unharmed. After an extension search/investigation, no parent or guardian could be located. The child was taken into protected custody and transported to Children?s Hospital for evaluation. CPS later responded and took custody of the child.
#2025-25134/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1231 hours, the suspect was armed with a handgun, entered the bank in disguise, and conducted a takeover-style bank robbery. After obtaining cash the suspect left on foot possibly into the City of Shoreline. Area search by patrol units resulted negative. No injuries. Patrol units processed the scene. SPD Robbery & FBI notified.
#2025-25145/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1100 hours, West Precinct officers conducted a shoplifting enforcement operation at a drug store in Q-Sector. In four hours, officers arrested five shoplifters, recovering $295.08 of stolen property. One suspect fled on foot but was apprehended after a foot pursuit. Three other shoplifts were witnessed by surveillance officers, but due to a shortage of officers and delays in booking prisoners at the jail, officers could not safely attempt apprehensions of those suspects. In all, four arrestees were booked into KCJ, and one was released at HMC due to an infected wound. SPD will assist in additional targeted enforcement in the near future.
#2025-25562/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2199 hours, officers responded to a distress call from Sound Transit regarding two subjects fighting in the 200 block of Pine St. Arriving officers encountered an uncooperative subject; a taser was effectively deployed in taking him into custody. Suspect was declined at KCJ and will be booked on assault, harassment, and obstruction. 213 notified.
#2025-25183/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1320 hours, the ART Unit was conducting their daily focus in the DAT Zone near 12th Ave S and S Jackson St. While patrolling Hoa Mai Park, they approached a male who was smoking in the park. During a routine name check, they discovered an active U.S. Marshals fugitive warrant. The individual was taken into custody without incident and transported to KCJ, where custody was transferred to the U.S. Marshals.
