#2025-272280/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1555 hours, West dispatch was advised by CAR 50 of a large demonstration heading towards the precinct. The crowd size was roughly 200 and they were on the sidewalk holding signs protesting ICE and capitalism. The demonstrators marched around the downtown core chanting and holding signs. The group did not block traffic and (at the time) no reports of property destruction. The organization was monitored by East/West patrol and was last seen entering Cal Anderson Park. CAR 21, CAR 50, 212 and PEOT1 were aware of the incident.
#2025-27066/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1100 hours, Detectives from GIU, SAU, and Officers from CRG and North Patrol conducted an Organized Retail Theft (ORT) operation in the 13200 block of Aurora AV N in support of our local retailers. During the operation, six suspects were arrested for theft and ORT. Four suspects were booked into KCJ and two were investigated and released (charges pending). Additionally, GIU and CRG assisted the FBI and Seattle Vice (25-25593) in the recovery of a juvenile female that had been trafficked from Texas. SPD LTs oversaw the operation.
#2025-27472/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2008 hours, officers responded and investigated complaints of a subject causing property damage to vehicles in a large apartment parking lot with a baseball bat. The investigation revealed that the suspect was smashing car windows and mirrors with a baseball bat while yelling “this is my city, this is my country, and “go back where you came from!” One of the victims confronted the suspect and attempted to take the bat away and was assaulted resulting in only minor injuries. The suspect fled on foot and was not located during the investigation. All victims were of Hispanic origin. Victims and witnesses believed that the property destruction was targeted based upon their national origin. Witnesses believe that suspect lives at that location but were unable to provide an apartment number or identification.
#2025-27555/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2141 hours, officers responded to an armed robbery at a convenience store in North Queen Anne. The four suspects entered the store and stole approximately $50 in singles from the cash drawer and a Slurpee from the counter. One suspect brandished a firearm during the robbery. It was unknown if the suspects fled on foot or in a vehicle, but an area check by officers was negative. Security video was not accessible by the victim.
#2024-27614/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2319 hours, the suspect walked inside the Safeway located at the 4700 BLK of 42 Ave SW. The suspect went to the meat and cheese aisles and grabbed some items. An employee at the Safeway started recording the suspect concealing items. The suspect became mad and threw items at the employee striking him. The suspect charged the employee and threw him against the shelf. The suspect then contacted an unknown female and took an item from her. A bystander in his mid 60’s saw the incident and contacted the suspect and told him to give the item back to the female. The suspect struck the male three times with a guitar. The guitar struck the male in the eye, and he had swelling. The female victim left prior to officers’ arrival. Police conducted an area search, but the suspect wasn’t located. Approximately 35 minutes later the suspect was located at the 4400 BLK of 35 Ave SW. The suspect was placed in custody and booked at KCJ for Robbery 2 and Assault 2.
