#2025-40496/East Precinct/First Watch:
At 0815 hours, Officers responded to alley way near 700 BLK 30 AV for a driver passed out behind the wheel of running vehicle which was also an unverified stolen. Officers positioned themselves for a high-risk felony stop and placed stationary tire deflation devices under the rear wheels. Officers hailed the driver, he woke up and sped away, deflating the rear tires. Officers did not pursue but did search the area for the suspect possibly dumping the stolen vehicle. A few blocks north of the initial incident, officers were flagged down regarding a vehicle crash and suspect fleeing. Officers located the stolen vehicle that had crashed into a parked car and were able to apprehend the suspect a block away in a nearby park. Suspect will be taken to HMC for blood draw and booked for PSP / DUI. Officers also found an AR style rifle in the vehicle. Incident screened with 211.
#2025-41226/North Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2354 hours officers responded to reports of an armed carjacking at NE 125th St and Greenwood Ave N. Victim had been parked at that intersection in his 2012 silver Toyota Camery waiting for a friend. The suspect opened the passenger door and sat down. The suspect pointed a black handgun at the victim and told him to get out. Once the victim exited the suspect drove away in the vehicle. Officers checked the area but did not locate the vehicle or the suspect.
