
Seattle police SWAT arrested a man after a shooting in the 9900 block of Aurora Avenue North on June 13.
Officers found a 26-year-old man was shot in the ankle by another man at about 11:31 a.m. The suspect was considered armed and dangerous and left the scene westbound on North 100th Street while riding a bicycle. He later abandoned the bicycle.
Investigators set up containment in the area to search for the suspect. An SPD K9 and the King County Sheriff’s Office helped look for the man. In addition, the Real-Time Crime Center was activated to assist in the search. As the investigation progressed, SWAT responded to the scene.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. He is considered stable.
After about two hours of searching for the suspect, SWAT took the man into custody near North 96th Street without incident.
It’s not known what led up to the shooting. The SPD Gun Violence Reduction Unit continues to investigate.
