2025-163905/South Precinct/Third Watch/R2:

At 2221 hours, there was a two-vehicle collision on Martin Luther King Jr Way S near the intersection of S Dakota St. Both vehicles came to rest on the Sound Transit Link light railway lines. Blocking both north and south bound rail lines, causing delays. The driver of vehicle two was transported to HMC with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of vehicle one absconded north on foot. Officers found the driver of the vehicle after a 911 caller advised the driver that ran was trying to hide behind a vehicle half a block away. Officers identified the driver and discovered multiple warrants for his arrest pertaining to previous incidents of driving under the influence, ignition interlock device violation, and driving while license suspended in the 2nd. Both vehicles were towed off the tracks. Significant property damage caused by the collision included: a sheared off pedestrian crossing signal, a sheared off fire hydrant, and planted tree saplings.

2025-163910/West Precinct/Third Watch/K2:

At 2025 hours, while working a traffic post for the baseball game, two individuals attempted to disregard the PEO and Officer flagging at the location. They attempted to explain that walking through the area was prohibited due to traffic safety concerns. The suspect assaulted the officer and then fled with his friend. The suspects were quickly captured down the street and booked into KCJ. The officer sustained minor injuries.
