
Seattle police officers are investigating a violent stabbing in Queen Anne this morning that left a man seriously injured.
At 4:33 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a stabbing near 5th Avenue North and Mercer Street. There, they located a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds with the knife still embedded into his body. Officers provided medical treatment and applied a torniquet.
The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and continued treatment. SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are still under investigation, but officers determined that the victim and suspect got into a verbal altercation on a Metro Coach before the incident occurred.
Police cordoned off the area while awaiting the victim’s status at HMC. Patrol officers processed the scene, and detectives in the Homicide & Assault Unit were notified.
As of 6:00 a.m., HMC staff reported the victim’s status as stable.
