Detectives Arrest Primary Suspect in High Profile Home Invasion Robbery

Seattle police detectives have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with a violent home invasion robbery at a Capitol Hill home.

On June 7, at about 12:45 a.m., officers responded to reports of a burglary at the home in the East Precinct. A 22-year-old woman, who was working as a nanny for the family, was attacked with bear spray by two men who crept into the home through an unlocked door.

The suspects ransacked the house, stealing thousands of dollars’ worth of the family’s personal items, including one very distinguishable Seattle Sounders ring with the owner’s name on it.

The 22-year-old woman managed to escape to a nearby neighbors’ home where she called 911. The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived.

The nanny was the only person injured during the home invasion robbery. The homeowner was not present during the incident.

Seattle police worked closely with detectives from the King County Sheriff’s Office and the Renton Police Department who have been looking into other high-profile burglaries targeting sports stars and celebrities across the region. Many of these investigations have resulted in arrests and criminal charges by the King County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Aug. 21, King County’s Valley Swat Team served a search warrant on the 29-year-old suspect’s Renton home. Police arrested him for a separate Seattle police robbery warrant. Detectives are expected to refer criminal charges to the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s office for the home invasion robbery in the coming days.

From there, the investigation led police to a jewelry store in South Seattle. Upon serving a search warrant at the store yesterday, Aug. 27, detectives found multiple items stolen from the owner’s home and from other local homes that have recently been burglarized. Amongst the items found in the jewelry store were items from other high-profile celebrities.

Detectives are asking anyone who may see any of their stolen items in the photographs below to contact the SPD Robbery Unit 206-684-5535. Proof of ownership will be required.
