Drug Trafficking Investigation Leads to Arrest of Convicted Felon

Seattle police narcotics detectives arrested a 32-year-old man, and convicted felon last week following a monthslong drug trafficking investigation beginning earlier this year.

Detectives started their investigation while working narcotics enforcement operations in Downtown Seattle. They determined the suspect to be a supplier for street-level drug dealers, and they began surveilling him.

On Aug. 20, detectives conducted surveillance at an apartment building in the 400 block of Northeast 165th Street in Shoreline, WA. They found the area to be “a safe harbor for illicit activity,” according to the police report. During their surveillance of the suspect’s actions, detectives found narcotics.

Police submitted the drugs into evidence and continued their investigation. They did not arrest the suspect at that time.

On Aug. 21, the King County Superior Court authorized a search warrant for the suspect’s residence and vehicles based on the drug trafficking investigation.

On Aug. 26, detectives, along with the Seattle police SWAT team prepared to serve the warrants. Police saw the suspect driving his car from the Shoreline apartment building where they previously found the narcotics.

From Shoreline, he drove to the 10700 block of 14th Avenue Southwest in Seattle, and SWAT arrested him there.

Narcotics detectives recovered:

  • 2.5g of Fentanyl
  • 868.5g Fentanyl
  • 1,990.5g of Methamphetamine
  • 20.8g of Cocaine
  • Handgun
  • Drug paraphernalia

Detectives booked the suspect into the King County Jail for multiple crimes in Violation of the Uniformed Controlled Substances Act for possession with intent to deliver narcotics, and Unlawful possession of a firearm.

The suspect, a convicted felon, is prohibited from having guns.
