At 2341 hours, patrol responded to a report of property damage in progress with possible shots fired in the 7900 block of 9 Ave SW. Officers arrived to a chaotic scene with opposing stories being reported with suspects possibly having fled in a vehicle. This vehicle was located and a brief pursuit was initiated until involvement information was determined to terminate the pursuit. Despite conflicting reports, investigating officers determined that a shooting had occurred and conducted a community caretaking search of the home. A male located hiding inside during this search was found to have a protection order with one of the involved parties. Evidence suggested that the shooting likely originated from inside the home. Consent was granted by the homeowner and a handgun consistent with the evidence was found hidden inside. The male was booked for FVNCO. GVRU and 253 were notified of the incident and arrest.
#2025-262028/North Precinct/Third Watch/N3:
At 0306 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of shots fired. Officers arrived and observed an orange-colored SUV leaving the area. After speaking to several subjects on the street, it was determined that the orange vehicle was likely involved. Officers located the SUV and performed a traffic stop. During the stop, the driver gave officers permission to enter the vehicle to look for a firearm. A handgun was located under the driver’s seat, and the suspect immediately began to attempt to get away from officers but was taken down and arrested. It was later determined that the suspect was a convicted felon and booked for VUFA. The passenger stated she was in the area on the street were the shooting occurred and provided officers information where the casings were located. After a brief search, shell casings were located.
#2025-263097/South Precinct/Third Watch/R1:
At 2218 hours, a call came into 911 reporting an armed robbery. The victim was about to make a deposit at a bank ATM when he was approached from behind by the suspect who demanded the money. The victim refused. The suspect then drew out a black handgun from his sweatshirt and pointed at the victim. The Victim dropped $40 on the ground before attempting to flee on foot. The suspect gave chase for a while before fleeing to a blue vehicle last seen driving west bound from the scene.
