#2025-277356/West Precinct/Second Watch/K3:
At 1433 hours, officers were working in the DAT zone when they on-viewed the suspect tagging a planter box. Officers placed the suspect under arrest and while searching his backpack recovered a handgun. The suspect is a felon and was recently arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm. Suspect was booked into KCJ.
#2025-277638/South Precinct/Second Watch/S3:
At 1859 hours, dispatch received reports of 3-4 juveniles got out of two vehicles on the north side of the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr Way South and South Henderson Street (southbound lanes) and fired toward the light rail platform just south of South Henderson Street. Only property damage to the light rail platform was located. No victims or other damage was located. Evidence was collected including multiple caliber casings, and bullet fragments from the impacts with the light rail platform windows.
#2025-277444/South Precinct/Second Watch/S3:
At 1551 hours, a 9-1-1 caller reported that suspects from a previous shooting, two nights prior, were back at the location of the original shooting. She stated that the suspects were currently armed, as one of them clearly had a pistol in his waistband. The suspects were using a silver Impala to seemingly transport and sell firearms to juveniles in this apartment complex. Officers responded and discretely surrounded the area before moving in with a contact team. The suspects all fled leaving the Impala in gear to roll forward into a patrol car. Three of the suspects were captured after a foot pursuit, and all three were identified by the caller as being inside of the Impala prior to officers’ arrival. In plain view officers observed multiple firearms in the Impala. It was seized for a warrant, which was served at the South Precinct by patrol. Four firearms were recovered. Three Glock pistols, two modified with switches that allow them to be fired in fully automatic fashion. A .223 caliber sub machine gun with an extended magazine was also recovered. The three suspects who were arrested were all juveniles and were all booked into YSC for unlawful possession of firearms, and possession of illegal firearms – machine guns.
