Man With History of Running From Police Arrested After Running From Police, Again

Seattle police officers arrested a 33-year-old man known to run from the police after he, again, ran from the police Tuesday night.

On Sept. 30, at about 7:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of man pointing a gun at people in the 200 block of Harvard Avenue East. When they arrived, he ducked down outside of a nearby business apparently trying to conceal his identity.

Police recognized the suspect, previously arrested for felony offenses and known to carry firearms. When officers addressed him, the 33-year-old man ran.

Officers ran after the man and a foot pursuit wound through Capitol Hill. Officers lost sight of the suspect after he jumped a fence and ran through a parking lot.

A police K9 team and a King County Sheriff’s Office helicopter responded to assist.

Ultimately, police found the man hiding in between some trees in a parking lot in the 200 block of Harvard Avenue East.

Police recovered 2.8 grams of Methamphetamine and a single unspent round of ammunition from the suspect. They did not locate the alleged firearm.

Officers booked the suspect into the King County Jail for obstruction and narcotics possession.

Detectives in the Narcotics Unit will be running this investigation.
