At CRG and patrol officers responded to a demonstration near 16 Av E and E Aloha St. Pro-Palestinian protesters gathered on the street in front of a local tech company CEO’s residence. Protesters used a vehicle brigade to block the street. They spray painted the sidewalk and surveillance cameras at the residence and threw red glitter and several Lime scooters at the front entry gate of the residence. The protesters were angry with the CEO and his company over its business dealings with the Israeli government. The protest lasted approximately 30 minutes, and the group dispersed. This protest was an offshoot of a Pro-Palestinian demonstration that occurred at Cal Anderson Park earlier in the evening. This event occurred on the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur. The family advised they felt specifically targeted by protesters because they are Jewish. No arrests were made.
