At 1645 hours, ABS responded at the request of patrol to investigate a suspicious package that had been dropped off by unknown persons. After examining the package ABS determined it was not hazardous.
#2025-295706/North Precinct/Second Watch/L2:
At 1339 hours, the suspect, who lives in a North Seattle housing facility, broke into the building’s management office through a locked door and window while yelling bias remarks about the victim’s perceived protected status. The victim had to flee to an adjoining office to avoid being assaulted by the suspect. The suspect appeared to be displaying signs of mental crisis. The suspect was arrested for the hate crime and booked into KCJ. The victim was not injured during this incident.
#2025-294224/West Precinct/Third Watch/Q2:
At 0326 hours, On the listed date and time, officers responded to an occupied residential burglary at an apartment building in the 600 block of W Nickerson St. Upon arrival, neighbors of the victim advised they attempted to detain the suspect, but he was able to escape and entered a different unit down the hall. Fearing the suspect may have entered another occupied unit with potential victims inside, officers exigently entered the unit and discovered the suspect unresponsive with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. No one else was located inside. Officers found a firearm, registered to the suspect, and rendered it safe. Seattle Fire arrived and confirmed the death. KCME personnel were notified of the death and responded. The incident was screened with Homicide.
