Seattle police detectives are investigating a homicide in the Central District this evening.
At 8:15 p.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting near East Pike Street and Broadway. There, officers found a victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided medical aid to the victim. SFD transported him to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in serious condition with life-threatening injuries.
Despite all life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and doctors pronounced him deceased at HMC.
While investigating, a second victim arrived at HMC in serious, but stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Police cordoned off the area and detectives in the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units arrived to process the scene.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before police arrived. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.
