Armed Suspects Carjack Vehicle in Rainier Valley  

On Monday, October 13, at 11:31 p.m., officers responded to a report of an armed carjacking in the 3200 block of Rainier Avenue South in the Rainier Valley Neighborhood.

Police arrived and contacted a 20-year-old man who said he had been sitting in his parked vehicle with a 20-year-old female passenger when two unknown suspects approached, both armed with handguns. One suspect opened the passenger’s door and pointed a gun at the female victim. The second suspect opened the driver’s door, pointed a gun at the male victim, and demanded both exit the vehicle.

The male victim said he attempted to push the weapon away and start the car but was pulled out by his collar. Shortly after, the suspects fled northbound driving the victim’s vehicle. Both victims ran into a nearby business to call 911.

The male victim reported the vehicle contained a black security uniform and equipment. The female victim said her purse was inside the vehicle, containing a phone and identification. Neither victim suffered injuries during the incident.

Officers conducted an area search, but the stolen vehicle was not located.  

Detectives from the Robbery Unit will be leading the investigation and will be working to determine what led to the carjacking.
