At 1844 hours, 911 received information about multiple shots heard and a vehicle speeding off in the 200 block of Broadway. Police responded and located shell casings and bullet fragments in the street between E Fir St and E Spruce St. Officers canvassed the area for cameras and ballistic damage. There was bullet damage located on an exterior wall and entry gate of a nearby apartment building. Upon closer inspection, police found blood droplets and smears that led to many areas within the apartment complex. Building management assisted with surveillance footage that led to a possible suspect located in one of the apartments. Police conducted a search of the apartment, detained a subject, and recovered a modified handgun resembling a rifle possibly involved in another incident from last week. Officers processed the scene for evidence, following different leads, and completing welfare checks to ensure no one at the location was injured. It appears the drive by shooting involved a white sedan and the group of juveniles that were standing near the entry/exit of the apartment building. Suspects from the white sedan fired towards the group before fleeing from the location. Currently suspect(s) are still outstanding and no reported GSW victims. GVRU notified. 242 responded.
