Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Drive-by Shooter

Seattle police detectives, officers, and federal law enforcement agents arrested a 28-year-old man wanted for a Sept. 5 drive-by shooting in North Seattle.

During a several month investigation, detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) developed probable cause to arrest the man, who has a violent criminal history, for the shooting that happened near North 102nd Street and Aurora Avenue North.

On Oct. 29, detectives, officers in the Community Response Group, and agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives tracked the suspect down at a gas station in the 14600 block of Tukwila International Boulevard in Tukwila, WA.

The joint law enforcement team arrested the suspect without incident and impounded his car.

Detectives booked the man into the King County Jail for Drive-by Shooting and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. The suspect, a previously convicted felon, is prohibited from having guns.

This remains an open and active investigation assigned to GVRU detectives.
