#2025-324489/East Precinct/First Watch/G3:
At 0700 hours, Officers responded to an unoccupied suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of Thurgood Marhsall Elementary School. Officers discovered that the car was stolen and there was evidence that it had been involved in a shooting. It was then determined that this vehicle was related to a non-life threatening GSW walk-in to HMC that occurred the prior evening at about 0200 hrs (25-324380). 2401 was not the scene of any crime or the shooting, which evidence suggests is at a location few blocks away. GVRU was called. Officers processed the scene and transported the car to VPR.
#2025-324856/East Precinct/Second Watch/G2:
At 1213 hours, officers responded to a report of a male physically fighting with security/staff at the Douglass Truth Library in the 300 block of 18th Avenue. During the altercation, the male exclaimed “I’m going to pop you,” and reached toward his waistband. Security thinking the suspect was in possession of a firearm quickly grabbed the male around his waist, but the male was able to escape from his grasp. Police established containment in the area and spoke with community members providing information about the suspect’s location. K9 and Guardian One were requested and responded. K9 conducted a track that led to the apprehension of the male suspect, who was hiding in a garage in the area. Male suspect booked into KCJ for felony harassment and obstruction.
#2025-325109/West Precinct/Second Watch/Q3:
At 1550 hours, West Precinct officers responded to a bank robbery on West Mercer St. A female suspect entered the bank requesting a loan. While speaking with one of the loan agents, the female suspect handed off a note explaining that the employee reading the note would be killed if they refused to give the suspect the listed amount of money. Staff was able to contact SPD while the suspect was still on scene. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. During the investigation, it was determined that the suspect was also involved in an armed bank robbery on 9/25/2025 at another location within the West Precinct. Robbery was contacted regarding the incident and the subsequent findings. The suspect was arrested for both robberies and subsequently booked into KCJ.
#2025-325386/South Precinct/Third Watch/R2:
At 2102 hours, a few calls into 911 about two shots heard around the area of 27th Av S and S Winthrop St. Officers arrived in the area. Each officer approached citizens outside around the area in a few block radius. The information gathered from the public led officers to the general direction from which the shots were heard. Officers located FCCs at the top landing of pedestrian stairs leading from S Hanford St/Morse Ave S to Cheasty Blvd S and S Hanford St. The top stair landing is on the east side of Cheasty Blvd S. Scene processed by patrol officers. Evidence submitted. No property damage observed. No other evidence of victim(s). GVRU notified via email.
