Seattle police officers arrested two teens, 15 and 17, for armed carjacking in North Seattle last night.
On Nov. 8, at about 9:30 p.m., patrol officers responded to an armed carjacking by multiple suspects in the 6200 block of Northeast Radford Drive. One of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim, demanding his keys and his phone. Multiple suspects got into the victim’s car and drove away.
Officers reported the stolen vehicle to BMW, and they were able to track it while relaying the suspects’ real-time location.
After about 30 minutes, police tracked the stolen car to a grocery store in Northgate and cops flooded into the area. They arrested a 15-year-old girl inside the car. A second suspect, 17, known to law enforcement for robbery and assault, ran away on foot. Officers arrested him a short distance away.
Two more suspects ran from the car and got away. A King County Sheriff’s K9 team responded to help SPD track the outstanding suspects, yet they could not find them. Officers impounded to vehicle to the Processing Room.
Police booked the teens into juvenile detention at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center for Investigation of Robbery.
This continues to an open and active investigation assigned to the Robbery Unit.
