At 1218 hours, Officers were dispatched to a person jumping on vehicles. He was reported to be armed with a knife. Officers conducted an extensive area check but did not locate the suspect. A little under 2 hours later, the suspect reemerged and tried to enter an occupied Officers car. Several Officers arrived on scene, and the suspect was taken into custody. A victim from the original call came to the scene and positively identified the suspect. A type II use of force was utilized while taking the suspect into custody.

At 1332 hours, officers were on routine patrol in the magnolia area when their patrol was struck multiple times by an unknown driver operating a gray sedan. The suspect vehicle disregarded multiple directions and proceeded to flee from the scene without stopping. A passenger who had exited the suspect vehicle prior to the collision was detained whilst attempting to leave the scene in his own vehicle but was uncooperative and refused to provide the suspect’s information. A D.R.E arrived on scene to assess the passenger after he admitted to smoking marijuana with the suspect. The passenger was later released from the scene at the conclusion of the investigation. All involved officers did not sustain any injuries. 242 and homicide were notified of the incident.
