On Dec. 1, the Renton Police Department arrested a 31-year-old man wanted for the Nov. 17 homicide in South Seattle. Officers transported the suspect to Seattle Police Headquarters to be interviewed by detectives. Seattle police booked him into the King County Jail for Investigation of Murder.

Detectives Investigating Homicide in South Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating a homicide in South Seattle this evening.
On Nov. 17, at about 10:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to a shooting inside of an apartment building in the 3600 block of 33rd Avenue South. There officers found a man in his 60s with a fatal gunshot wound.
Police and the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) provided medical aid to the victim. Despite all life-saving efforts, SFD pronounced him deceased at the scene. The suspect fled before police arrived, and they have not found him.
Police cordoned off the area until the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units responded to process the scene, speak to witnesses, and collect evidence. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation.
The King County Medical Examiner will take custody of the deceased. They will identify the man and determine the cause and manner of his death.
