The Seattle Police Department was proud to join forces with the Seattle CARE Department, Accenture, and Operation Warm to bring warmth and hope to students at Rising Star Elementary School. Together, we provided hundreds of brand-new coats for children in grades K-5 because every child deserves something made just for them.
Operation Warm is more than a coat drive. It is a national nonprofit that manufactures high-quality coats for children in need, supporting families facing economic challenges and helping kids feel confident and ready for winter.
With approximately 70 volunteers, including 40 from SPD, we helped about 340 students get fitted for warm, comfy coats. Each child chose their favorite color, and the smiles said it all.
This initiative reflects SPD’s commitment to community policing, building trust through meaningful engagement and strong partnerships. By showing up for our youngest residents, we are investing in a stronger, more connected Seattle.
