At 0007 hours, community members called to report hearing shots in the area of 21 Ave/E Yesler Wy. Officers arrived and located one shell casing at the 100 BLK of 22 Ave. Officers didn’t locate any property damage or injuries. GVRU was notified.
#2026-1942/West Precinct/Third Watch/K3:
At 0042 hours, following a disturbance in the 900 block of S Jackson St, a suspect entered the lobby of an apartment complex. From inside the lobby, the suspect fired three shots through the open door leading to S Jackson St. A vehicle with bullet damage was located but appeared to not be directly involved. Shell casings located. At this time, no victims or suspects have been identified. GVRU notified.
#2026-2039/South Precinct/First Watch/O1:
At 0315 hours, officers responded to investigate a burglary to a marijuana dispensary business in SODO. The alarm company and subscriber called 911 to report 3-4 masked males seen inside the business. Officers arrived on scene and conducted their investigation as there was a delay in time of 911 call from when the incident occurred (0315 hours). Two male suspects wearing masks were seen on video surveillance forcing entry inside the victim business from the drywall of the neighboring business. The unknown suspects stole approximately $300 worth of product and left the business in two different vehicles. Area check was negative. Unknown if involved suspects are related to several other marijuana business burglaries in Ocean sector. GIU notified.
#2026-2073/South Precinct/First Watch/O3:
At 0538 hours, officers were conducting proactive patrol in a known area with high criminal activity near 6200 BLK Airport Wy S. Officers observed the suspect attempting to get into a vehicle door using pry tools. Officers attempted to detain the suspect, but the suspect was uncooperative and then became assaultive. The suspect grabbed onto an officer’s hair and punched the other officer in the head. A citywide Help the Officer was broadcast. The suspect was taken into custody. There were no injuries to the officers. The suspect complained of pains and was taken to HMC under guard. She will be booked for Assault 3 when medically cleared. Type 1 investigation initiated. 231 responded to the scene and notified Car 4. Hazard reports completed.
#2026-2161/East Precinct/Third Watch/C3:
At 0917 hours, officers were dispatched to a robbery call at a local grocery store located at the intersection of East Madison Street and 22nd Avenue East. Upon arrival, the officers apprehended the suspect. The store employee reported that the suspect was a repeat shoplifter who had come in that day to steal again. The suspect bypassed all points of sale with the stolen items, and when the employee attempted to stop the suspect, an altercation occurred in which the suspect assaulted the employee. The suspect was subsequently booked into the King County Jail for robbery.
#2026-2180/South Precinct/First Watch/R2:
At 0940 hours, officers responded to a “help the officer” call at Lowe’s. Initial reports were that an off-duty police officer was being assaulted by a female suspect inside the store. Once officers arrived on scene, it was established the victim was not an off-duty police officer; she was a hired security guard. The female suspect left the store and was contacted by officers arriving on scene and was positively identified as the suspect. She was arrested for assault and booked into KCJ.
#2026-2178/West Precinct/First Watch/D1:
At 0936 hours, a King County Animal Control Officer parked her department vehicle on the street in front of 70 Battery St. overnight. Someone broke the front and back vehicle windows and stole the Officer’s ballistic vest with the KC Animal Control tag, a baton, a radio, a department laptop, and a pair of binoculars. No suspect information at this time. The officer notified her supervisor. This is the second time the Officer department vehicle was broken into.
