#2026-2987/West Precinct/Third Watch/Q1:
At 0414 hours, a West Precinct unit was traveling northbound on 9 Ave approaching Virginia St. The unit collided into the Unit #2 in the intersection. No one involved was injured. The patrol car was towed to Charles St. 231 notified.
#2026-2604/South Precinct/Second Watch/R2:
At 1830 hours, Officers responded to two separate reports of carjackings along Lake Washington Blvd S, occurring within 5 minutes of each other. One incident was an attempt, and the other was completed. Responding officers observed the stolen vehicle taken in the second carjacking fleeing the area and pursued it until it successfully eluded them near the Southcenter Mall. No vehicle tracking devices were available, and air support was also unavailable. SPD Robbery was notified.
#2026-3212/West Precinct/Second Watch/D3:
At 1451 hours, the suspect’s family called and reported their son was in crisis. He is diagnosed with serious mental illness. He had travelled from Minnesota to Seattle, believing he is married to a woman he had seen on Tik Tok. He started texting a family group chat, he has an M4 rifle and is going to shoot up the University of Washington and the Asian Art Museum. He was staying at a local Hostel that is adjacent to Pike Place Market. A plan was made, and the suspect was taken into custody at the Hostel for the threats. A subsequent reading of his texts revealed a biased comment related to this incident. He was booked into King County Jail. LT notified. Bias Element alert sent.
#2026-3718/North Precinct/Second Watch/J2:
At 1720 hours, Officers responded to two people down in a running vehicle. Upon arrival, Officers discovered the vehicle was stolen. Officers formed a contacted team but before they could start the contact, the suspects exited the vehicle and began to run in different directions. A taser was deployed to take one suspect into custody. The other suspect was taken into custody without force.
