A Seattle police officer shot an aggressive dog this afternoon after it attacked a woman at Freeway Park in Downtown Seattle.
At about 2:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a dog attack near the 600 block of Seneca Street. There, officers found a woman suffering from injuries after being bitten by the dog.
While attempting to control the animal, an officer discharged their department firearm, striking the dog.
Officers took the dog to a veterinary clinic for treatment, yet the dog died. The bite victim sustained injuries from the attack and went to the hospital for treatment.
This is an ongoing investigation.
