Seattle police officers are investigating a stabbing in the Chinatown-International District last night that left a 30-year-old man with severe hand injuries.
At about 7:20 p.m., patrol officers responded to a stabbing near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street. Officers found a man bleeding, with injuries to both of his hands and his head. Police provided medical aid and applied a torniquet.
The Seattle Fire Department continued treatment and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
While investigating, officers learned of a possible second victim, yet they could not find them. Police found a blood trail that led towards 12th Avenue South and East Yesler Way, but the trail stopped at a nearby bus station.
The Real Time Crime Center captured video of a fight between four people. Two of them appeared to be involved in the stabbing. “As the two meet, both appear to be holding a bladed weapon and are seen slashing at each other,” according to the police report.
After the incident, a gray van and a white sedan fled the area. Their involvement is under investigation. Police did not make any arrests. The circumstances leading up to the stabbing are also under investigation.
