Seattle police officers are investigating a shooting that injured a legally blind man, 40s, in the Chinatown-International District this afternoon.
At about 11:17 a.m., officers responded to reports of an injured man, bleeding, near 5th Avenue South and South Weller Street. There police found a victim in the street with two suspected gunshot wounds to his leg. Police and firefighters treated the victim for his injuries. Medics took him to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
There is no suspect information at this time, and police did not make any arrests. Officers cordoned off the area to process the scene and search for evidence. The circumstances leading up to the assault are under investigation.
